Meditation and Art Research
While studying for her Masters in Art Education, an exploration of art as a tool for meditation was explored in depth and was highlighted by Western Carolina University.
“Just as meditation is a still point of focus of the mind and breath, art, too, captures in a still image a journey inward.”

After being noted for her research within the university, Shelley went on to submit her studies to speak at the North Carolina Art Educators Conference which took place in Raleigh, NC. Among hundreds of participants, Shelley led an interactive program on her research and findings of "Art as a Tool in Meditation".
